Black Friday is November 27, but in Canada it has already started. IKEA's sale opened on November 2, Walmart's first deals go online November 12, and Fizz is giving its customers free data this week.

The first deadline is Wednesday, November 4: if you bought Truffettes de France truffles since April 2022, you can claim up to $9 with no receipt. Costco takes up to $1,000 off furniture until Sunday, a $50 Cineplex gift card comes with up to $63 in movie coupons, and Qtrade and Great Canadian Rebates together pay $800 when you move $30,000 into a new Qtrade account.

1. Truffettes de France settlement: Claim up to $9 without receipts

Deadline: Wednesday, November 4, 2026

Bought a box of Truffettes de France truffles in Canada? A proposed $300,000 national class action settlement pays you for it.

The lawsuit says the packaging made the truffles look like they came from France, when they were made in Canada. Chocmod Canada, the company that sells them, denies doing anything wrong, and no court has found that it did.

You can claim $3 per product for up to three products with no proof of purchase, so $9 without a receipt. If you bought more than three, you can claim those too with proof. Purchases count if you made them in Canada between April 7, 2022 and September 5, 2026, and the final amount per product can go up or down depending on how many people claim.

On the claim form, you declare that you really bought the products. The Superior Court of Quebec looks at the settlement on November 3, and payments go out only if it approves. Filing a claim also means you give up your right to sue Chocmod over the same issue yourself.

What to do: Fill in the claim form on the official settlement website before November 4. Canooq's Truffettes de France settlement guide has the full details.

2. Costco: Save up to $1,000 on furniture

Deadline: Sunday, November 8, 2026

Costco.ca is taking up to $1,000 off furniture until November 8. The more you spend in one online order, the more you save: a $3,600 order of sofas, bed frames or dining sets gets $1,000 off, so you pay $2,600 before taxes and delivery.

Eligible furniture in one orderInstant savings
$750 to $1,199.99$150
$1,200 to $1,749.99$250
$1,750 to $2,499.99$400
$2,500 to $3,599.99$600
$3,600 or more$1,000

The discount comes off automatically at checkout. It's online only, and only furniture marked as part of the promotion counts.

What to do: Browse Costco's Spend & Save furniture promotion and order by November 8.

3. Fizz: Get 40 GB of mobile data for free

Eligibility date: Tuesday, November 3, 2026

Fizz is kicking off Black Friday by giving its customers 40 GB of mobile data for free. You get it if you have an active Fizz mobile plan on November 3.

It's a one-time bonus, so your monthly plan doesn't change. Fizz reveals its next gift on November 4, and deals on plans and phones follow over the coming weeks.

Fizz is a prepaid carrier where you build your own plan online, from about $20 a month. Unused data rolls over for two months, and you can give data to another Fizz member.

4. Cineplex: Buy a $50 gift card and receive up to $63 in bonus coupons

Available: November 1 to December 31, 2026

Cineplex's Holiday Gift Bundle is back. Buy at least $50 in Cineplex gift cards in one go and you get a pack of movie coupons that Cineplex values at up to $63, while supplies last.

The pack has a free adult movie ticket, a free regular popcorn, two buy-one-get-one ticket offers, a buy-one-get-one regular drink and a ticket upgrade. The coupons work from January 1 to March 31, 2027, each with its own conditions, and the gift card keeps its full $50 on top. Give the gift card to a movie lover and keep the coupons for yourself.

What to do: Buy the gift card through Cineplex's holiday promotion.

5. Wealthsimple: Earn a 1% bonus for moving investments

Availability: invited customers

If your TFSA, RRSP or other investments sit at another bank or brokerage, Wealthsimple pays 1% in cash to move them over, from $25,000.

The bonus is paid over 24 months, and withdrawals can cut what's left.

6. Qtrade: Earn up to $5,000, plus $100 through Great Canadian Rebates

Account opening deadline: January 5, 2027

Qtrade Direct Investing, an online brokerage, pays new clients cash back on the money they bring in, and Great Canadian Rebates pays $100 on top.

Qtrade pays 5% on $1,000 to $10,000, so $10,000 earns $500. Above that, you get a set amount that rises with your deposit, up to $5,000 on $500,000 or more. Put in at least $25,000 within 30 days and Qtrade adds a $100 quick-funding bonus. If you're moving an account from another brokerage, Qtrade also refunds up to $150 of the transfer fee on each transfer of $15,000 or more.

Great Canadian Rebates (GCR) is a free Canadian cash-back site that pays you when you open an account through its link. Say you open a Qtrade account through GCR and move $30,000 in the first month:

  • $600 from Qtrade's cash-back offer
  • $100 from Qtrade's quick-funding bonus
  • $100 from GCR

That's $800 in total.

Use promo code OFFER2026, open the account by January 5, 2027, fund it by February 5, 2027, and keep the money there until February 5, 2028. For GCR's $100, create your free GCR account first and go to Qtrade from GCR's page.
