Editorial Policy

This page explains how Canooq approaches sourcing, reviews, corrections, commercial links, and disclaimers.

Editorial purpose

Canooq publishes practical Canadian guides, calculators, templates, and explainers for everyday money, newcomer setup, benefits, taxes, housing, travel, and admin decisions. The goal is to make complicated tasks easier to understand, not to replace qualified professional advice.

Source standards

For government, tax, immigration, benefits, credit, housing, employment, and financial topics, Canooq prefers primary sources such as Canada.ca, CRA, IRCC, FCAC, provincial government pages, CMHC, CRTC, official provider terms, and other authoritative references. When provider offers, rates, eligibility rules, or deadlines matter, readers should verify the current terms directly with the source before acting.

Periodic review

Canooq content is reviewed periodically, with higher priority given to pages involving taxes, benefits, immigration, mortgage assumptions, rates, provider offers, deadlines, and eligibility rules. A page may still become outdated between reviews because official programs, provider terms, market data, and laws can change.

Corrections policy

If a reader, provider, or public source identifies an error, Canooq reviews the page and corrects the issue when appropriate. Corrections may include wording changes, source updates, date updates, offer removals, redirects, noindex decisions, or added disclaimers. Send correction notes to hello@canooq.ca or contact@canooq.ca with the page URL and the specific issue.

Affiliate and partner transparency

Some Canooq pages include referral, affiliate, advertising, or partner links. Compensation does not guarantee placement, ranking, positive coverage, or a recommendation. Sponsored and referral links should be treated as commercial links, and users should compare terms before signing up, buying, booking, depositing, or switching providers.

Professional advice disclaimer

Canooq content is educational and general. It is not financial, tax, legal, investment, immigration, mortgage, insurance, employment, healthcare, accounting, or professional advice. Calculators use simplified assumptions and templates are starting points. Important decisions should be verified with official sources, providers, or qualified professionals.
