Proposed settlements in Canadian class actions alleging a conspiracy involving the supply and price of Beef. JBS has agreed to pay $7,498,700 and National Beef has agreed to pay $495,000. Settlement approval hearings are scheduled in Vancouver and Montreal, but claims are not open yet.
People in Canada who bought raw Beef for personal use or resale after January 1, 2015 may fall within the settlement classes, excluding Beef Products and Beef purchased from the food service industry. Quebec purchasers are covered by the Quebec Settlement Class.
No claim form is available yet. The official settlement website says the courts will approve a future process for submitting claims.
