Six Canadian opportunities tracked for the week of July 20 to 26: a Quebec class action, PC Express points, a Wealthsimple $1-million draw, a Rakuten cash bonus, Aeroplan and Hyatt account linking, and a forgotten-money search.

This roundup covered six Canadian money opportunities from July 20 to 26, 2026. The Candiac claim deadline and PC Express offer deadline have passed; the July Wealthsimple draw remained upcoming as of July 28.

1. Candiac class action: deadline passed July 21

The neighbourhood-disturbances settlement covering parts of Candiac and La Prairie had a firm claim deadline of July 21, 2026, which has passed. The settlement administrator says the class action covers eligible residents of Candiac sectors A and P and the Faubourg du Golf sector of La Prairie who lived at a listed address between February 12, 2010 and December 31, 2016.

The approved settlement totals $2.2 million. Compensation depends on the eligible address, the area involved and the number of days the claimant lived there. Each eligible resident must submit their own claim, including residents of the same household. Check the address list first, then file before the deadline.

If you submitted the claim, keep your confirmation and use the settlement page for updates.

2. PC Express: offer expired July 22

New PC Express customers can collect $15 in PC Optimum points on each of their first five eligible online grocery orders for up to $75 total. The offer listing said each qualifying order needed at least $75 in the cart and the pickup or delivery fee was waived on the first five qualifying orders.

The offer listing marked July 22, 2026 as the expiry date. If you placed qualifying orders, check your PC Optimum account for the points and keep your order records. The points are worth $10 in grocery credit for every 10,000 PC Optimum points.

Start at PC Express and review the current PC Express offer listing and your account history.

3. Wealthsimple: enter the July $1-million draw

Wealthsimple's July Monthly Millionaire contest runs through July 29, 2026, with the $1-million draw on July 30. Open or use an eligible Wealthsimple chequing account, register for the contest and fund the account to receive 500 starter entries.

You can build entries with eligible deposits and transfers, receive 5,000 entries for each successful referral, and double your entries when you set up direct deposit. Wealthsimple caps entries at 100,000 per month. Entries accumulate from draw to draw during July, then reset to 500 when the August contest begins. The final listed weekly prize before the grand prize is $100,000 on July 23.

4. Rakuten: get $30 after spending $60

Rakuten's current Canadian welcome offer gives new members a $30 cash bonus after $60 in qualifying purchases. Join Rakuten, click through Rakuten before shopping at a participating store, and keep the order eligible for cashback. The $60 purchase trigger is separate from the regular cashback you earn on the order.

This works best for a planned purchase you already need: use the Rakuten portal first, check the store's exclusions, and wait for the purchase to post before expecting the bonus. Rakuten pays eligible cashback by Interac, PayPal or cheque on its regular payment schedule.

Join Rakuten Canada and activate the welcome offer before you shop.

Air Canada and World of Hyatt have launched a new partnership. If you have both memberships, linking the accounts unlocks the core benefits now and puts your future Hyatt stays into the right earning setup.

Eligible Canadian Core Aeroplan credit cardholders earn 1.5 Aeroplan points and 1 World of Hyatt Bonus Point per eligible $1 at participating Hyatt hotels. Premium Aeroplan cardholders earn 2 Aeroplan points and 2 World of Hyatt Bonus Points per eligible $1. Linked premium cardholders receive World of Hyatt Discoverist status and five annual Tier-Qualifying Night credits, while Aeroplan Elite members and eligible premium cardholders can use the available 90-day status challenge pathways.

The partnership also lets linked members convert 2 World of Hyatt points into 1 Aeroplan point, redeem Aeroplan points for Hyatt Free Night Awards, and use eligible World of Hyatt points for an Air Canada Flight Reward Certificate. Link before your next stay so the account connection is active when you book and pay.

Link your Aeroplan and World of Hyatt accounts through Air Canada's official partnership page.

6. Bank of Canada: search for forgotten money

The Bank of Canada's Unclaimed Properties Office holds dormant bank balances that have been inactive for 10 years and could not be returned to the owner. The searchable database covers items such as old chequing and savings accounts, positive credit-card balances, term deposits, GICs, bank drafts, certified cheques and money orders.

Search by your last name, first name, city and province, or by account or instrument number. You can also search for a business or a deceased family member's balance. The search is free, and the Bank of Canada does not charge a fee to process a claim, although proving entitlement can involve document or notarization costs.

Run the official Bank of Canada unclaimed-balance search before you close this article. It takes a few minutes and can surface money connected to an old address or account you no longer remember.
