Seven Canadian deals for August 17 to 23, including Wealthsimple's $102,613 Volvo or cash draw, Apple gift cards, RBC AirPods 4 and free Parks Canada admission.

What's on this page
This week's strongest Canadian opportunities include Wealthsimple's $102,613 Volvo or cash draw, Canooq's back-to-school guide, Apple education gift cards, RBC AirPods 4, Staples discounts, a Tim Hortons London trip and free Parks Canada admission.
The biggest deal this week is Wealthsimple's 2027 Volvo XC90 or $102,613 cash draw. Entries close Tuesday night. Students can stack Apple education pricing with a gift card, open an RBC student account for AirPods 4 and shop the strongest Staples school deals. Tim Hortons also starts a trip-to-London contest on Monday, while free Parks Canada admission continues through September 7.
1. Enter Wealthsimple's $102,613 Volvo or cash draw by August 19
Wealthsimple's Thursday, August 20 Monthly Millionaire draw pays one winner a 2027 Volvo XC90 valued at about $102,613 or $102,613 cash. Choose the cash if you win and prefer the flexibility. The entry window closes Wednesday, August 19 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
The week also includes 19,265 secondary prizes. Register in the Wealthsimple app, then earn entries through eligible activity described on the official August contest page. Wealthsimple also provides a Monthly Millionaire overview with the registration route. No purchase is required.
If you already use Wealthsimple, register before the deadline and check that your entry total appears in the app. The August 27 draw rises to $1 million, so registration also puts the final monthly prize on your radar.

Going back to school? Start with Canooq's back-to-school savings guide. It compares 30 picks across ten categories, including backpacks, lunch gear, calculators, headphones, chargers, study tools and dorm-room basics.
Use the guide as a price checklist, then apply the Apple, RBC and Staples offers below where they fit. Buying the full list from one store can hide a higher total. Comparing the expensive items first gives you the biggest saving for the least work.

Apple's 2026 student offer combines education pricing with a gift card: $210 with an eligible MacBook Pro or $140 with an eligible MacBook Air, iPad Air or iPad Pro. The promotion runs through September 24.
Eligible buyers include students attending or accepted into a Canadian postsecondary institution, faculty and staff, and parents buying for an eligible postsecondary student. Qualifying K-12 employees can also use education pricing. Apple's promotion terms list the eligible products, purchase limits and proof requirements.
Price the computer through the Education Store before checkout and count the gift card only if you will use it. A $210 card has its full value when it replaces a planned Apple purchase such as accessories, AppleCare or a later device.
4. Open an RBC student account and get AirPods 4
Full-time students aged 13 or older who live in Canada can open an RBC Advantage Banking account for students and receive AirPods 4. The eligible student account has a $0 monthly fee and unlimited debit transactions in Canada.
Open the account through the RBC student offer page by November 2, 2026, then complete two qualifying activities by January 15, 2027. Options include receiving a recurring direct deposit, making a pre-authorized payment or bill payment, registering for Interac Autodeposit and completing an e-Transfer, or making a purchase with RBC Virtual Visa Debit.
Pick two activities that already match how you bank. A paycheque deposit and one phone bill can complete the offer without creating extra spending. RBC also includes three months of Apple Music with the AirPods promotion.
5. Shop Staples' strongest back-to-school discounts
Staples' current back-to-school sale advertises up to $330 off laptops and desktops, up to 40% off backpacks, $70 off AirPods Pro 3 and up to 35% off writing supplies.
Start with the exact laptop, backpack or headphones you need, then compare the sale price against Apple education pricing and at least one other Canadian retailer. Staples changes featured products as inventory moves, so the live product price at checkout matters more than the maximum category discount.
For notebooks, binders and pens, calculate the unit price when packages differ. The simplest win is to lock in one large tech discount and buy only the school supplies on your list.
6. Scan Tims Rewards for a chance to win a London trip
Starting Monday, August 17, Tims Rewards members receive an entry when they make a qualifying order at a Tim Hortons restaurant and scan for rewards, order in the Tim Hortons app, or shop on TimShop.ca. The contest has two grand prizes, each a Harry Potter VIP trip for two to London, England.
The Tim Hortons Back to Hogwarts promotion runs through September 6. Scan the app on purchases you were making anyway. The promotion also includes Harry Potter menu items, packaging and merchandise, plus trivia nights at participating restaurants on August 28.
7. Use the final three weeks of free Parks Canada admission
The Canada Strong Pass gives every visitor free admission to Parks Canada places and 25% off eligible camping and overnight stays through September 7. You do not need to buy, download or register for a pass.
Free admission covers national parks, national historic sites and national marine conservation areas operated by Parks Canada. The 25% overnight discount includes eligible frontcountry and backcountry camping, oTENTiks, cabins, yurts and other Parks Canada accommodations. The official Parks Canada page lists what is included.
Book now if you want an overnight stay before September 7. Reservation fees, parking, firewood and third-party services still cost extra, but admission disappears and the accommodation discount applies automatically to eligible Parks Canada bookings.
