3. Shop Amazon's back-to-school page
Amazon has a dedicated back-to-school shopping page for backpacks, school supplies, electronics and dorm essentials. If that doesn't meet all your needs for the new school year, we have also listed some useful items in our back-to-school savings guide.
4. Claim student subscriptions before classes start
Companies gladly offer students some heavy discounts on premium apps or software. Canooq's free student subscriptions guide is the fastest way to review software and services before your first assignment. Check GitHub's Student Developer Pack, Microsoft 365 Education and Spotify Student while your school credentials are ready.
Claiming them this week also gives you time to set up your accounts before orientation and classes.
5. Shop Best Buy's Labour Day and back-to-school sale
Best Buy's Labour Day sale started August 21 and is now in the sweet spot for back-to-school tech. Current offers include up to $400 off select laptops and up to a $200 gift card with select carrier activations. Browse the official Labour Day sale and the select laptop offers side by side.
6. Cut the phone bill before school starts
Public Mobile currently features a 25GB Canada-US-Mexico 5G plan for $35 per month with 1,000 international long-distance minutes. That is a useful fit for students who need a generous data bucket at home and across the border.
7. Watch the Pixel promotion arriving this week
Google says Pixel 11 phones opened for preorder on August 12 and reached store shelves on August 20. Google offers some heavy discounts until August 27, so be sure to check the official Pixel update for the current promotion, and read Canooq's Pixel 11 Canada guide for pricing, specs and offer details.
8. Also worth checking this week
Check Staples' back-to-school page for supplies, accessories and school tech. If you receive CPP or OAS, the Government of Canada's benefits calendar lists payments landing on August 27.
